One Family’s Dream Cottage

Recently, award-winning Midwest Home magazine featured Kyle Hunt & Partners and one of our custom homes. This publication showcases exquisite homes and gardens in the Twin Cities and throughout Minnesota. Highlighted was one family’s dream cottage, a European style artisan home KH&P built in the lakeside community of Deephaven.

The Perfect Setting. Kyle Hunt, co-founder of KH&P and Realtor® with Rooted Real Estate, its boutique real estate firm, located the ideal property. He then connected with architect Jean Rehkamp of Rehkamp Larson Architects, and during their first visit to the site, together with the homeowner, began to cultivate a vision for a stunning artisan home. It would be custom designed for their active family who wished to move from their bustling urban neighborhood.

A Personalized Approach. We were delighted with how hands on the owners were with this project. One was a trained interior designer, yet also appreciated the value of collaborating with professional interior designer Alecia Stevens in developing final plans. The result was a five bedroom, six bath home that exuded European charm and truly reflected the family’s personality. The plaster walls, custom ironwork, custom white oak windows, reclaimed full-length beams, and a mix of antique features and modern selections worked to define the artisan style of the home.
